Night-Prowler
Here I am in the morning lazing in my cool den or on a warm, sunny rock near the river.
My belly is full of night kill. I am a Night-Prowler.
My claws are like flickering knives tucked away under my feathery fur.
I live among the long grass, so do not come to my jungle.
I will jump out on your smooth faces, but when I finish there will be no face left at all.
Because I am a Night-Prowler.
I swim through long whistling ponds, I live in a big tree in South America.
I prowl through grasslands ambushing prey.
I rest calmly until I hear a noise, then I stretch out my long tethered tail and I prowl
Prowl until I find my food. Then I rest again.

What do you think of me?
Waiting to pounce on my breakfast,
Only nostrils showing above the deep, blue water,
I’m waiting,
Waiting for my prey to drink from the deep, blue
Water,
To crush,
Crush it to pieces, especially wild pigs, they’re my favourites.
I’m slithering up to him with my scaly skin and
BANG!
A nice piece of juicy prey is ready for me to eat,
With my stretchable, elastic-jaws to gulp it down
My huge throat.
When I’ve eaten it I’ll hide under a rock to
Digest my delicious food in my full stomach.

Who Am I?
I lie in my den with my young
Beside me.
My soft, sleek fur glistening
As the sun rises.
I go out for breakfast for a
Nice, juicy chicken.
My mouth watering,
My heart pounding.
I’m licking my lips,
As I run to pounce on my prey.
Then I take it to my young
To feed them.
After I have eaten,
I go down to the river to have a quick bath,
Then hurry back to my den,
To have a nice nap.
Who am I?
