Summer Silver / Autumn Gold

We provided the staff and children with the opportunity to work with an artist (Lynne Bebb), sculptor (Keith Bayliss) and writer (Vivian French) using the school nature reserves as a starting point for our art and creative writing. Our project plan evolved during the two terms leading us to create some beautiful works of art using a wide range of media. Some of our parents became so inspired by our childrens' work that they arranged their own art workshops with Keith Bayliss. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience and intend to hold similar workshops in the furure.

We worked on two themes - Summer Silver and Autumn Gold. Summer Silver was linked to our school pond nature reserve. Autumn Gold work was linked to our woodland area nature reserve which we call Coed Grange.

The final stage of our project involved preparing two public exhibitions of our work which enabled us to share the outcomes of the project with parents, other schools and the community.
