Swansea took part in the second M.A.S.T Art Summer School at Swansea Museum.
Activities included drawing, beach art, sculpture, video and performance.,
all inspired by the museum's Egyptian collection.
The first week culminated in the 'Mummy March. The young people dressed as mummies and paraded through the streets of Swansea. The performance enabled the museum to take to the streets and promote its wonderful collection. During the second week the young people who attended concentrated on video, creating story boards, writing scripts, making props and costumes, filming and editing to produce entertaining short films to which they added their own music. M.A.S.T was part of the City and County of Swansea's 'Skools Out' summer programme, and was supported by National Museum and Galleries of Wales 'On Common Ground' project, that aims to encourage young people to use the nation's museums and art galleries. Resident Artists: Lynne Bebb David Marchant Leigh Anne Treadwell With assistance from Owen Griffiths.
