Bishop's Wood. Working Together Finding Out Nature Art Body Sculpture During Spring Term 2002, children from Pontlliw primary school were given the opportunity to work with an artist in residence. The focus being Nature Art and sculpture. Sarah Holden, the Artist in Residence, carefully guided the children to discover new ways of creating natural art. Bishop's Wood gave all of the children in the year 1 class, the chance to look at the world around them and find out more about it through art. All of the children learned new skills, and had to choose the material that they wanted to use very carefully. Most of the children had not had an experience of being in a wood, and were very interested about all things they found. Nature art taught the children from Pontlliw that everything around them is special and can be used to make beautiful things. |
