I Am Afraid

I am afraid of
Spiders crawling up the walls.
They make me run away
Like a flash of lightning.

I am afraid of
Creepy graveyards
Miserable vampires
Creep around at night
Whatever makes the hooting noise
Surely gives me a fright.

I am afraid of getting lost
In the middle of nowhere
Thinking I have to sleep in the streets
Then I find out I am really tucked up
In my cosy bed.

I Am Afraid

I am afraid
Of spiders
Scuttling across the floor.
They might bite my toes,
Thinking they were flies.

I am afraid
Of jellyfish,
Squirming up my leg.
I imagine them,
Injecting their poisonous fangs
Into my hands.

I am afraid
Of woodlice,
Crawling slowly up my arm.
They might crawl Into my mouth,
Tasting disgusting.

I am afraid
Of heights,
I’m looking over a cliff.
Then tumbling
down,
down,
down,
Onto the ground below.
