The Big Draw Schools
participating in The Big Draw Fifty-five
Swansea primary schools have signed up for a week long BIG DRAW and
a team of some of the City’s best artists will be on hand to
help them prove that Swansea can pull out the stops to get as many
people as possible drawing. This will include grown-ups as well as
children all proving that ‘drawing changes the world’.
This exciting project is part of a nation-wide campaign launched four
years ago to encourage everyone to draw. The Guild of St. George,
a small charity, initiated the campaign to show why drawing should
be valued more highly in education and everyday life, and to involve
everyone. Since the launch, it has brought together over a million
people at venues across the UK to discover that drawing aids observation,
communication and creativity and above all, is fun. "The
beginning of the week has got off to an excellent start and by Friday
over 8,000 children, teachers and school visitors will have participated".
